USTA Community Partner Honored for Youth Tennis Efforts
Norristown’s Eisenhower Tennis Association was recently recognized for excellence in tennis programming by the United States Tennis Association Middle States Section Philadelphia Area Tennis District.
At its January 24th Awards Brunch at the Green Valley Country Club in Lafayette Hill, USTA MS PATD President Rose Weinstein presented Eisenhower Tennis Associaition Director, Tony Giambrone with PATD’s Community Tennis Association of the Year award.
The Eisenhower Tennis Association is located on the corner of Coolidge and Harding Boulevards in Norristown. The five outdoor courts are home to Senior, Drop-in tennis and a 7 week Youth Summer Tennis Program. Eisenhower Tennis Association also hosts Tennis Block Parties to introduce tennis to youth who have never played the sport. The organization is active in promoting tennis in the Norristown Area School District; community organizations like the US Junior Olympics and The Greater Norristown Police Athletic League.

The USTA MS Philadelphia Area Tennis district is the largest district in the USTA Middle State section boasting more than twelve thousand USTA members across the Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Bucks County areas.
